Safeguarding and Child Protection For Aotearoa

The Children's Act 2014 requires most organisations supporting children, young people and their families to have a Child Protection Policy, and the policy should help staff identify and report child abuse concerns. However, if staff (paid, voluntary or contracted) don't learn the knowledge and skills needed to apply this requirement, everything remains theoretical.

This eLearning is critical for all organisations supporting children and their families and has been designed for Aotearoa's Children's Workforce. It can support staff across all levels and serves as a great foundation course for staff undertaking specific safeguarding responsibilities, such as Designated Safeguarding Staff.

Learners develop their knowledge and skills by reviewing the essential elements of child safety and exploring new learning, including recommendations from Aotearoa | New Zealand's Abuse in Care Royal Commission of Inquiry. This user-friendly, easy-to-navigate, and extremely well-evaluated course offers expert content and practical resources, all centred on the main Rs of child protection.
